In the process of pursuing program activities and addressing investment opportunities, Gray Matters Capital seeks to build a robust network of "developers". These are highly-skilled and seasoned professionals who want to apply the talents they have built over successful business careers to create positive social impact in the emerging market context.
Developers engage with GMC by mentoring, coaching and playing governance roles for the entrepreneurs, enterprises and initiatives within our portfolio of investments and programs.
Bob Pattillo, GMC’s sponsor, moved quickly and aggressively into the social venture space, through his work with GMC’s sister enterprises. One of the primary motivating factors behind our work with the Developer Community is to blaze a trail that others may pursue, as they learn how to uniquely apply the skills and talents from their successful careers toward the customer base in the world’s emerging markets.
Successful community members may go on to a variety of next adventures, including co-creation of programs for GMC, co-investment in our portfolio companies or finding other ways to further plug into the social venture space.
Some of our developers include:
> Bill Hamlet
> Beth Parish, Regis University
> Henry Waszkowski, Treasury Performance Group
