The IDEX Accelerator is a six-month fellowship program launched by Gray Matters Capital in 2010. We run two fellowship cycles, one in January and the other in July every year.
The program is tailored for aspiring social enterprise practitioners from around the world to become changemakers supporting and leading the development of scalable solutions in fields as disparate as health, education, renewable energy and environment.

IDEX Fellows will undertake 24 weeks of custom developed curriculum modules providing a baseline understanding of focus areas such as Impact Assessment, Social Innovation, Advocacy and Outreach, and Resource Mobilization. This curriculum is self-paced and is delivered through a combination of short readings and curated content with a minimum time commitment of 96 hours during the program.
Coaching in Monthly Capacity Building Mentoring Workshops
To accompany each module, fellows will participate in four full-day capacity building workshops over the course of their fellowship led by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Mentors-in-Residence who are seasoned professionals and thought leaders in their respective fields.
Social Enterprise Placement
For six months, fellows work full-time with one of IDEX’s partner social enterprises in Bengaluru (India) as a key staff member working on projects, interacting with stakeholders and grappling first-hand with complex issues being addressed by these enterprises.
IDEX provides the following merit-based funding to the most promising fellows who demonstrate a commitment and passion to continue working in the social enterprise sector post fellowship.
A partial scholarship that covers $ 500 - $ 2000 of the tuition fees extended to select fellows participating in the IDEX Accelerator program.
As part of its commitment to investing in the transformational power of women leadership, IDEX launched the InvestWISE initiative with an objective to train more women for leadership positions and rebalance gender scales at workplaces. IDEX awards a scholarship of $ 2,500 to select women fellows with the goal of empowering and training future women intrapreneurs.
IDEX thrives on the spirit of community which explains why our fellowship experience is centered around the ‘Cohort’. Based on our experience of conducting the program for the last 8 years, we have identified some key qualities that let us know if we make a good fit for you
